WARP Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Support
Genco Systems is working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) by supporting the Titan Corporation as a sub-contractor on the $72 Million weather and radar processor system called WARP.
Genco Systems is in a Mentor Protege Agreement with Titan Systems Corporation.
What is the WARP?
The WARP program is a multi-million dollar project involving the procurement of hardware and software to replace the current Meteorological Weather Processor (MWP) System in 21 Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC) and one Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC).
What Does The IV&V Team Do?
The IV&V Team is an independent organization within the WARP Product Team used to evaluate the development of the software throughout it's life-cycle. Genco Systems is proud to be providing a leadership role in the WARP IV&V activities.
The Genco IV&V Team has been involved from the very beginning of the Program and is actively supporting the WARP Program Office with it's evaluation and recommendations to help achieve a successful and quality procurement.
Both the FAA and TRW, have recognized GENCO's superior IV&V support!
Some Of Our Specific Activities in the WARP Project
Development of an IV&V Plan which follows the IEEE Standard and defines the IV&V activities for the life-cycle of the WARP Program. While continuing to keep in view the WARP's statement of work and contract structure as set up with the development contractor.
Setting up software tools such as the Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Software through Pictures (StP), and the Project Control Management System (PCMS) environment to maximize utilizing the development contractor's tools and electronic access to the contractor's development environment.
Evaluation of development contractor's plans including Software Development Plan, Configuration Management Plan, Program Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Risk Assessment, Risk Abatement Plan, and Master Test Plan.
Evaluation of development contractor's periodic Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL), such as Software Management Indicator Report, Program Status Report and Network Logic Schedule.
Evaluation of software related documents for each phase. Documents detailing: Requirement Phase, Preliminary Design Phase, Detailed Design Phase, Code and Unit Testing Phase, Software Integration Phase and System Integration Phase, Operation and Maintenance Phase. All of these documents are an important part of the program life-cycle. Upon review, Genco provides recommendations to the Program Office.
Genco performs traceability analysis from system requirements to software requirements, then to preliminary design and to detailed design and finally to code. Provides statistical results/graphs to the Program Office regarding the outcome of the analysis results.
Performs on-line evaluation of software development folders and provides informal feedback to the contractor to resolve issues before the documents are formally delivered.
Performs evaluation of C Code for requirements and quality. The Code is accessed through an on-line interface via the Project Control Management System (PCMS) tool.
Supports the formal review process including Systems Requirement Review (SRR), Software Requirement Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Program Management Review (PMR) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM). Provides a Trip Report indicating observations, evaluations, and recommendations to the Program Office.
Provides evaluation and support to the WARP Test Program, including monitoring of selected test activities of the contractor (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, system factory acceptance testing, and site acceptance testing).
Provides management support regarding the execution of the IV&V Plan, quality control of the IV&V findings, planning, reporting, and coordinating with other project entities.
Supports the WARP Team in resolving all software-related issues.
Supports the evaluation of the Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and helps the Government in negotiations.
